A Fairly Nice Day in October (the 19th)

There are so many reasons to love October. One being that you can put on a hat & coat & still enjoy the outdoors. Norah enjoyed toddling around...Jeff surprised me with his "skills" and had been putting up all the siding by himself on our 3-season room.Noah runs around in pure excitement that there are leaves to play with.Norah tries her hand with a shovel.Noah uses his leaf blower (side note: I LOVE this toy, it's too cute!)Noah can often be found on his swingset...sometimes he goes on his belly & says he's a super-hero. Also, ...too cute. And again, my handy-dandy husband.Kiddos playing in the leaves. Noah loved being buried in the leaves, even more so this year than last.

So thankful that we have this swingset & that the kiddos love it. I love fall... Oh fall, where have you gone - today there is an ugly rain-sleet mix upon us :(

Bedtime Stories

One of my favorite things is reading to my children. There's something extra special about cuddling up with them before bed & reading a story.

More, please?

She may be a peanut, but those eyes & her little "More" voice is too precious & gets us everytime.

October 15th, 2009 (Thursday)

Aunt Joan & Uncle Don are off on their honeymoon & missing the FIRST SNOW that we had back here in the 'Ville. Noah was so excited to see it snow that he insisted on going outside. SO, off we went in the backyard before getting ready for bed.

Aunt Joan is Married!!

Back on October 10th I had the honor to shoot my Aunt Joan's wedding. Aunt Joan is such a special person to me, and I've been praying for her wedding for sometime. It was so neat to see my grandpa walk her down the isle...and that grandma made her beautiful dress...and that she married Don. I've been waiting to call him Uncle Don for about 3 years now. Welcome to the family, Uncle Don. We love you both so much! All my aunts & uncles on my mom's side AND Grandpa & Grandma. This is one of my favorite pictures!

And Yes, We Went Trick or Treating, Too

It's been SO long since I've posted, now time to play catch-up. Norah enjoyed playing with Noah's Buzzlightyear wings & was eager to help.Noah - getting ready! He was the cutest little Buzz!Noah didn't always hold this still...he often was jumping off the furniture, saying he was flying... and yelling out, "To infinity & beyond!" ...very cute, not so good for the furniture though.I drew the "Buzz chin" on Noah & he had to check it out.Norah's turn to get ready. She kept meowing like a kitty - TOO cute!I'm ready to go, Mom.The kids LOVED trick-or-treating this year. We just go to the neighbors, then my brother & sister-in-law, Kelly & Steve's (friends from church), then my aunts & uncles & grandparents...a 3-hour outing & Noah just had so much fun. He kept saying, "Where to next, I need to get more candy!"

Carving Time

Both kids were excited to carve pumpkins this year. Norah is a "dig in & get dirty" kinda girl...and Noah, although apprehensive at first, is always willing to see what things are all about.Jeff helped Noah do his pumpkin...Time to get all the guts out.Norah, holding the one of the "eyes" to Noah's pumpkin. They thought the "hole" was neat.So proud of his jack o'lantern.Norah's lil' jack o'lantern. She was so cute...she'd just sit & gaze at them.Happy Halloween! ...then inside to watch "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" "Each year, The Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see." ~Linus

Kent Farms ~ Pum'kin Pickin', October 22nd

Last night Jeff & I took the kids up to Kent Farms to get our pumpkins. It was a lovely 60 degree night, and Noah first had to play pirate:Norah got on board, but wasn't very fierce. Then to the train! The next tractor ride was ready & it was time to ride up to the pumpkin fields. Noah was thrilled because the tractor was "BIG!"Going up, up, up to the patch."Look, I found one...it's a BIG one!" Noah could hardly contain his excitement. This made it so fun for Jeff & I --Noah & Norah are at such fun ages. Little did Noah realize that there were TONS of pumpkins for him to peruse.Off he goes...Norah was having a great time, too. She certainly didn't have to be told what to do."Hmm, I can have any one of these?!"Hanging out.Norah was so cute, she kept saying "Ball, ball" and thumping the pumpkins; trying ever so hard to pick them up.Then, she found the "belly button" and was quite amused.Noah, holding on tight to his favorite."Do I have to sit here, I want to explore MORE!"Jeff & Noah walking back to the tractor ride.Me & the kiddos.Noah truly loved getting on & off the tractor ride, as well as examining all the "parts!" He's such a farm-kid.Norah liked the ride too - and was watching everything.Back at the barn, Noah was quick to hop on a mini-tractor-bike and ride around.Norah, Noah's shadow, was trying so hard to keep up with her big brother.Fun in the corn-box. What a neat idea --instead of sand, it's filled with lots & lots of corn.I love to look at all the fall things on display.Noah even enjoyed the "Hall of lights" - and liked seeing the pumpkins all carved so uniquely.Outside was an old firetruck --another must see for Mr. Noah. It was getting dark & time to head home. What a fun, fun evening. Can't wait to carve our pumpkins next week.
